iCAT™ Imaging

Advanced iCAT™ imaging utilizes cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanning to create a highly detailed, 3D image of your teeth and oral/maxillofacial structures, including the mouth, jaw, neck, ears, nose, and throat. If you require thorough evaluation of your teeth, jaws, face, and oral structures, then your dentist can capture an accurate 3D model using digital iCAT™ imaging. The cone beam technology is particularly useful when planning oral surgical procedures, such as dental implant placement or impacted wisdom tooth extraction.

Aside from treatment planning, 3D images also allow your dentist to observe how deeply decay has penetrated a tooth, and to evaluate the extent of dental trauma. Therefore, they provide your oral health specialist with a realistic view of your oral landscape before extensive treatment such as oral surgery is recommended or initiated. The benefits of utilizing iCAT™ 3D imaging include:

  • Improved prevention and management of dental disease and trauma.
  • Integration with CAD/CAM technology to create highly esthetic restorations in a single day.
  • Reduced exposure by using highly targeted rays to concentrate on specific areas.
