New York is known by many names, such as the Big Apple and the Empire State. It’s also known for being home to the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, a history of cultural and industrial innovation, and one of the country’s most diverse populations, among many other things. With Doctors Network, New York is also a leader in making good dental health a significantly more affordable necessity for families in all five boroughs. Doctors Network is comprised of dentists across New York and the country who believe affordable, high-quality dental health care is a right, not a privilege. Therefore, they’ve made it easier to afford by providing direct dental plans to help patients save significantly on the overall costs of their dental health care.

Doctors Network

With a population of over 19.7 million people, New York is the fourth most populous state in the country. For many of its residents (approximately 8.1%), a lack of insurance can make it difficult to ensure that they receive the high-quality dental care that New York has to offer. With Doctors Network, families across the state now have an alternative, direct plan that grants significant savings on every treatment their dentists offer. Checkup and cleaning appointments, which are essential to maintaining good oral health, are only $25 per visit, making it easier for patients to prevent issues that could eventually require more extensive treatment. All other procedures, including cosmetic teeth-whitening, porcelain veneers, tooth-colored fillings, dental implants, and more, are provided at substantial discounts, sometimes by up to 90%. Patients who already have insurance can still benefit by signing up for a direct dental plan to help ensure that their out-of-pocket expenses do not skyrocket.

Dr. Perry has been my doctor for years, taking care of my entire household, my wife and kids. He's very friendly, he's interested in getting to know you, and he understands his work. He employs excellent individuals to help him and his patients, and I think the care they provide is great. When we moved away from Medford, we didn't alter our dentists-we stayed with Dr. Perry’s practice. A more skilled and pleasant dental office could not be found, I guarantee that.

I’ve only been here for a checkup but I’m already very impressed with Big Apple Dental. I was running late, so they only had time for the checkup and told me to come back for the cleaning, but I still can’t believe how caring they were, they really took time to listen to my questions and concerns. The dentist in Wyandanch was very thorough when he went through my x-rays, he explained everything that was going on with my mouth. The hygienist was great too, he went through everything with me, and especially explained the effects of my teeth grinding to me. I never knew I grind my teeth at night, but it helped me realize the cause of a lot of the issues I was having with my teeth. The staff could tell I was anxious so they tried to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. Everyone there was very detail oriented and caring. I love this place, and I am actually looking forward to going back, which is weird to say about the dentist.

If you’re in the Syosset area and looking for the best dentist around, I highly recommend Dr. Stuart Kaminsky. The staff is polite, punctual, and personable. It’s very easy to schedule an appointment. If one isn’t available for the day you’re looking for, the receptionists call you as soon as they have an opening. Dr. Kaminsky is wonderful. He gives great recommendations and keeps the appointment relaxed. I’d highly recommend him to anyone in my family. He really knows his stuff.

Back in September I was in between jobs and could not afford dental insurance in Levittown. Dr. Mekawy and their staff gave me information on a dental plan for people who can’t normally afford dental care. That’s just how awesome they are. I went in thinking I had two cavities that needed to be filled. I was in a little bit of pain because of them. I explained what had been going on and gave her a document that my primary dentist in Levittown had given me, which said what dental work I needed. Because of this payment plan, I am now able to afford the dental work that needs to be done that otherwise I could not afford it.

Dr. Mangiaracina confirmed I needed a filling but told me the rest of the procedures were excessive. She was very understanding. My dental plan even knew that this was a great dental office. As a patient, I had an unbelievable experience at Dr. Sandhu’s office! She is so personable, caring, and willing to answer any questions you have. I was pretty unhappy with my previous dentist and came to her office in Westbury, NY when a friend recommended her. I walked into Westbury Smile Center, and I was immediately treated like a family member. They informed me that I needed a small procedure to correct an issue. They explained everything to me step by step, and I was comfortable the entire time. I left with a smile on my face. Everyone that took part in my procedure had an excellent chairside manner. The office is very modern, and they offer quite a bit in the lobby to keep you comfortable. Parking has always been pleasant for me. I still tend to get such a top quality experience. I will be back here for my next cleaning! I’m so happy I found a dentist like this in my area. If you aren’t satisfied with your dentist, try these guys at Westbury Smile Center!

I was having some tooth pain, so I needed to go see Dr. Kaufman. My appointment was at 3 p.m., and I was seen in less than 15 minutes. The assistant was incredibly personable and very helpful in showing me the correct way to floss and how to prevent my gums from bleeding. Dr. Kaufman and the ortho specialist were both great. They answered all my questions and took the time to find out exactly what the source of my pain was. I am so thrilled to have found this office.

I really needed a new dentist when I found this place, I took a chance and I’m so glad I did. The office is spotless and organized. It is small, but I don’t mind that. They treat you like an individual here, and they aren’t worried about treating as many patients as possible. They treat you like a human being. The front office staff is helpful and nice. They will call you to remind you about your upcoming appointment and will even do a follow-up call a couple days after your appointment. Dr. Normatov is awesome. I came in for a deep cleaning and a checkup and she was very professional and easy to talk to, which made me feel comfortable and satisfied with the service I received. She did the cleaning herself, which is something I wasn’t expecting. We even got to talk about food. Again, she’s easy to talk to and really knows her stuff. I’m actually excited to go back and see her.

Dr. Aknouk is kind and professional. He goes over my options with me going over the pros and cons of the different treatment plans. He also helped me figure out that I am allergic to certain crowns, which helped me get rid of my cold sensitivity. He is affordable and whenever I call about dental problems they’re able to get me in on the same day. I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you need a dentist in the Bronx.

Dr. Isakharov and the staff are amazing! What an excellent experience for my routine cleaning, and when I returned to get my cavities filled, they remembered me and asked about my job. I’ve never had good experiences with fillings before because my cavities show up small on X-rays, but the tooth will turn out to be nearly all decayed. Dr. Isakharov listened to my concerns and when the cavities were much larger than they'd initially appeared, took the time to discuss options for my future oral care. I was dealing with some tooth sensitivity, so I scheduled an appointment with Glendale Dental. It was a wonderful experience. Cleaning: The hygienist did a wonderful job. She was polite and gentle. It was one of the best cleanings I’ve had in my lifetime. Dr. Cukier: He checked for various causes of tooth sensitivity and was so meticulous and kind. He communicated clearly and made sure I was okay before he proceeded. He solved the problem I was having with one of my back molars and did a quick cosmetic fix. That tooth was closer to the front. I’m impressed with the high-quality care I received. I’d highly recommend him! Dental office: The office was very clean and sanitary. It’s a wonderful office with wonderful staff. I couldn’t be more impressed with Glendale Dental and would definitely recommend this practice.

The staff is personable, and they never keep you waiting more than 10 minutes. Compared to other dental practices, that’s very punctual. I didn't know what to expect going to the dentist in the US, I just moved here from Russia and to my surprise it was great. I made an appointment for the earliest time available. Came in with little to almost no wait time and was able to explain my situation/tooth concerns without feeling uncomfortable. I never once felt judged or pressured into making any decision. After my appointment, the doctor went over with me a personalized treatment plan they had drafted to decide what should be done next. I will definitely be back soon.

I brought my 5 year old to this dentist in Harlem. I wanted her to go to a non-pediatric only dentist because pediatric dentists often use unnecessary medication for a simple teeth cleaning. I was nervous about how my son would do, so we watched fun Youtube videos showing kids going to the dentist and tooth cartoons. He was prepared and felt comfortable because of it, which was great because that meant no tantrum. I gave him some background info and it made him feel like a big boy, and the awesome dental hygienist helped me with that goal. She was very kind and gentle with my son. She showed him all the tools she was going to use, which made things easy. This place is truly the best. The other assistant and the dentist were great as well, My son listened to the assistants because they were all so nice. It was a great, easy experience. I can’t thank them enough. The front desk ladies were great as well, they were very kind and made my son feel great. They even gave him a balloon with his goodie bag, and when it popped they gave him 2 more and comforted him.

My appointment went longer than expected, but I didn’t mind because it gave me time to meet the staff and understand what they do in the office thoroughly. Dr. Wert listened to my questions and concerns, and he answered them thoroughly. He has a relaxed attitude, which I loved. The office is brand-new and has the latest and greatest in technology. You get to see your x-rays right way on a flat screen monitor from the dental chair. Dr. Wert spoke to me honestly and told me I need to floss more, which is something I already knew. The hygienist was also great, and I just had overall wonderful service. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment.

What is tooth extraction?

a
ache-remover-696

Tooth extraction or tooth removal is classified into two main types: simple extractions and surgical extractions. Understanding the difference between these types can help you prepare for your procedure. 1. Simple Extraction: This method of tooth extraction is performed on a tooth that is fully erupted in the mouth and can be removed with dental forceps with relative ease. After administering a topical anesthetic and then local anesthetic (Novocaine) to numb the area, the dentist or oral surgeon loosens the tooth by luxating it with an instrument called a straight elevator and then removes it with surgical forceps. Simple dental extraction is typically performed without the need to cut the gum, which is called raising a gingival flap in technical terminology, which is the process of making an incision in the gum and then separating the entire thickness of the gum away from the underlying bone, thereby exposing the actual jaw bone under it. This is done usually for teeth that are carious, damaged, or need to be extracted for orthodontic reasons. 2. Surgical Extraction: Surgical tooth extractions are more complex and are considered for teeth that are not easily accessible, such as impacted wisdom teeth (3rd molars) or teeth that have very little clinical crown left of them. Root tips also need to be surgically exposed sometimes. This method involves making the aforementioned incision in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and the underlying bone. The tooth may be cut into smaller pieces for easy removal. Sometime it is even required to truph the bone surrounding the roots (alveolar bone). Truphing the bone is the process of cutting the alveolar bone around the tooth to loosen the roots further, usually done on roots that are significantly curved or ankylosed (adhered to the bone). Surgical dental extraction is usually performed under local anesthesia, but sedation options are also available usually for wisdom teeth removal or high anxiety patients. Surgical tooth extraction may be needed for impacted teeth that are deeply embedded in the jawbone.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
