Doctors Network

From 1836 to 1845, Texas was its own independent nation, and it is the only state to have joined the U.S. through treaty rather than territorial annexation. Today, it is home to nearly 28 million people, making it the second most populous state (next to California) as well as the second largest (next to Alaska). Known as the Lone Star State, Texas’ independence and spirit has persevered throughout its history, and today’s Texans continue to do things their way. When it comes to dental health care, that means offering families across the state highly affordable alternatives to dental insurance through direct plans. Provided by your dentist in partnership with Doctors Network, a direct dental plan guarantees significant savings on all treatments that your dentist and oral health specialists provide, and it works whether or not you already have insurance coverage.

Checkups and cleanings are only $25 per visit under the network’s direct dental plan. Also, the costs for treatments such as teeth-whitening, Invisalign®, tooth-colored fillings, porcelain crowns, dental implants, and more are all drastically reduced by up to 90%.

I haven’t been to the dentist in a long time. My teeth are extremely sensitive, so even getting my teeth cleaned is painful. I do get a lot of compliments on my smile, but sadly, a cavity won’t go away by itself. I was referred to Dr. Nguyen by a close friend. He and I chatted about my painful tooth. He took a look and said that I should come back for x-rays, so they could diagnose the problem and discuss a treatment plan. If he hadn’t made that recommendation, I may still have the cavity. I won’t lie - it wasn’t a fun experience, but I didn’t mind letting him look at my teeth. He even told me that my teeth were fairly healthy. The actual office is easy on the eyes and sterile. The other dentist he worked with seemed very skilled. They both knew I was scared, so they tried their best to make me feel better. I have to go back for more treatment, but I’m so glad I went to Heritage Dental in Katy, TX. They gave me the best patient care, so I highly recommend them!

This Katy dentist office did a tooth extraction for me. The staff and office are all very nice. Dr. Kuti’s top priority was my comfort and he made sure I was numb before doing the procedure. I felt almost no pain. They called me the next day to make sure I was doing OK and to see if I had any questions. They emailed follow-up home care instructions, which have been very helpful. They’ve provided great care from the moment I walked and even into the next day with the follow up. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you!

Dr. Lam Hoang discovered his passion for dentistry during his youth in Vietnam. He put this passion on hold after making the move to the United States, choosing to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering instead. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Houston, he worked as an electrical engineer for a few years but quickly realized that dentistry was his true calling. He attended the University of Texas Dental Branch where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001. He graduated valedictorian. That same year, he completed a postgraduate orthodontics training program at the University of Texas Health Science Center that inspired him to go back to dental school and earn a Master of Science degree in 2003.

As a practicing dentist, Dr. Hoang enjoys helping his patients achieve not only beautiful, healthy smiles but long-term results that last them a lifetime. He is primarily interested in Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and its relationship to ADD and ADHD in children. He makes sure to look out for symptoms of OSA, ADD, and ADHD during his orthodontic exams.

This is the best dentist in Houston hands down. Dr. Mehta and his staff are kind, gentle and friendly. They treat you like an individual rather than just another person in the chair. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Mehta, it truly is a dream come true. They make everything easy, from scheduling an appointment to filling out very little paperwork, which can be done on a touch screen computer. My dental treatment was a breeze, and they took my fear of the dentist away. I would recommend this place to anyone. I’m so glad I found my primary dentist.

Dr. Zarghouni is the best dentist in Houston, TX! Her staff is so sweet and informative, and Dr. Zarghouni is truthful and experienced. Between the soothing environment and the friendly staff and dentist, I instantly felt comfortable, which isn’t easy for me because I don’t like going to the dentist. But there’s nothing else I could ask for! After a few awful dental experiences, I’m so thankful I found a dentist who sees me as a person, not a way to make money.

What is a dental filling?

A dental filling or a tooth filling is a common dental procedure used to repair a tooth that has been damaged by tooth decay, also known as cavities or caries. This procedure involves the removal (excavation) of the decayed portion of the tooth and the replacement of the preparation with the ideal filling material. The goal of a tooth filling is to restore the function, integrity, and shape of the tooth, and to prevent further tooth decay. There are several types of filling material that can be utilized, including: 1. Amalgam (silver or metal) fillings: Amalgam fillings, AKA silver fillings, are made from an alloy of metals that include mercury, tin, silver, and copper. These fillings are very strong and durable and have been used for several years. However, they aren't as aesthetically pleasing as other types and may not be used for visible front teeth. 2. Composite (tooth colored) fillings: Composite fillings, AKA white fillings, are made of a mixture of plastic and glass. These fillings can be closely matched to the color of your teeth, making them a very aesthetically pleasing option. They are used in front teeth as well as posterior teeth (molars). 3. Gold fillings: Gold fillings are made from a mixture or alloy of gold, copper, and other precious metals. They are very durable, and long-lasting but are also more expensive than other fillings types. 4. Ceramic fillings: Ceramic fillings are made up of a mixture of ceramic materials and can be closely matched to the color of your teeth. They are comparatively expensive, but they are also strong and durable. The dental filling procedure typically begins with an examination of the diseased tooth by a dentist. They will examine the tooth and take X-rays to determine the extent of the decay. The dentist will numb the area around the tooth with local anesthetic (Novocaine). Then the dentist will use special dental tools to remove the decayed part of the tooth. Once the decay has been excavated (removed), the tooth will be cleaned and prepared for the filling material. The dentist will place the filling substance in the tooth preparation and shape it to the correct form and shape. If a composite (white) filling is used, it will be hardened with a special curing light. The dentist will then polish the filling down to ensure that it is smooth and comfortable while chewing. After the procedure, the tooth may be slightly sensitive to temperature and pressure for a number of days. This sensitivity is usually transient and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers (NSAIDs). It's crucial to follow the post-operative instructions provided by the dentist such as avoiding hard or crunchy foods for the first hour, avoiding biting on the fresh filling for a while, and generally maintaining good oral hygiene to ensure that the filling lasts a long time. To summarize, a dental filling is a dental procedure used to repair a tooth that has been damaged by caries. The procedure involves the removal of the decay and the restoration of that area with a filling material. There are multiple types of filling materials that can be used, including amalgam (silver), composite(tooth-colored), gold, and ceramic fillings. The procedure usually involves numbing the area around the tooth and using special tools to remove the decayed parts of the tooth. After the filling procedure, the tooth may be sensitive to hot or cold and pressure for a few days, but this should be temporary. Follow the post-operative instructions provided by the dentist, and if the sensitivity does not dissipate after a couple of weeks, let your dental professional know.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.
