After school, Dr. Baguette became a Bush dentist with the Indian Helath Service for 4 years. For 22 weeks of the year, he took care of the dental needs of native Alaskans, working up to 14 hours a day most days. In 1997, he joined the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. He became the first full-time Alaskan dentist to be both a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and a Dental Sleep Medicine Board certificate holder. Soon after, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. There, he completed a one-year Advanced Education General Dentistry residency program. The program refined Dr. Cluff’s knowledge and skills in all areas of dentistry such as IV sedation, surgical extractions, root canal treatment, implants, impacted third molars, and many other advanced procedures and techniques. Dr. Cluff was then stationed in Minot, North Dakota, where he worked as an official Air Force dentist and treated the dental problems of his fellow airmen.
