Dr. J. Brent Gorrell, DDS, is a distinguished cosmetic dentist committed to providing top-tier care. Originally from California, he moved to the Chicago area during his junior high years. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa on a swimming scholarship before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Northwestern University’s Dental School in 1979. Soon after, he relocated to Mountain View, California, where he opened his dental practice, serving the communities of Palo Alto and Sunnyvale, and has since remained dedicated to staying at the forefront of dental innovation. Dr. Gorrell is a passionate advocate for continuous learning, often describing himself as a "continuing education junkie." He is deeply committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry, earning a reputation as one of the leading cosmetic dentists in Northern California. His professional affiliations include membership in several prestigious organizations, such as the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the International Association for Orthodontics, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (since 1996). Dr. Weisman was born in Philadelphia, but due to his father’s military career, he moved frequently throughout his childhood. As one of four siblings, his family’s adventures made for a lively upbringing, and their annual reunions remain a cherished tradition. After living on military bases in Virginia and Germany, the family eventually settled in South Carolina before moving to Chicago.

Dr. Weisman attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1979 to 1983, where he earned a degree in Biology while also competing on the university's Big 10 Fencing team. He continued his education at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago, graduating in 1987. Following dental school, Dr. Weisman completed his residency at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco, where he was honored to serve as chief resident in his second year. During this time, he mentored first-year residents and specialized in areas such as hospital dentistry, geriatric care, and operating room procedures.

In 2004, Dr. Weisman brought together two established dental practices in Fremont, California, creating a strong, unified practice focused on patient care. He believes in open, transparent communication with his patients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their treatment. To support this, his office utilizes advanced technologies, including digital x-rays, intraoral cameras, and specialized software, all designed to enhance patient education and treatment planning.

A distinctive aspect of Dr. Weisman's practice is his service to the Deaf community. He and his team have made a dedicated effort to learn American Sign Language (ASL) through courses at Ohlone College, which has enabled them to better communicate with Deaf patients and understand Deaf culture.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Weisman enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, whether biking, hiking, or camping. He’s a proud dog owner, with his Maltese poodle, Lily, being a particularly beloved companion. Dr. Weisman is also committed to environmental sustainability, making eco-friendly choices such as using compostable bags in his dental office to reduce plastic waste. Above all, being a father is one of his greatest joys.

​Dr. Anna Yi is a local to the Bay Area, having grown up in Fremont. She graduated from Irvington High School before earning her BS in Biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton. Dr. Yi then went on to receive her DDS degree from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

With 20 years of experience in the dental field, Dr. Yi has had the opportunity to treat both children and adults, providing a wide range of preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental procedures. Known for her gentle approach and passion for serving others, she is deeply committed to delivering high-quality dental care and education to all of her patients.

Before becoming a mother, Dr. Yi enjoyed hobbies like playing badminton, snowboarding, traveling, and, of course, indulging in great food. Today, her free time is centered around her two children, Kara and Brandon. They love playing board games, building with Legos, and jamming to a mix of Taylor Swift, K-pop, and praise & worship songs. Recently, the Yi family welcomed two guinea pigs—Hazelnut and Popcorn—into their home.

An avid supporter of the SF Giants and Warriors, Dr. Yi is also passionate about her local community, actively serving at her church in Fremont.

Dr. Yi is eager to get to know her patients beyond just their dental care routines. She looks forward to learning about their passions and interests and is excited to meet them soon!

Dr. Henry Diep, a dentist in Hayward, believes every day presents an opportunity to positively impact his patients' lives, and he never takes this responsibility lightly. Through his work, he helps people find relief from pain, restore their confidence, and prevent costly dental problems in the future. Having experienced firsthand the profound and lasting effects dentistry can have, Dr. Diep is excited to use his skills to ensure his patients look and feel their best for years to come.

Dr. Diep first considered dentistry during high school, but it wasn't until college that he fully committed to the profession. His decision was solidified when he volunteered at a mobile clinic in Oakland, CA, where he witnessed hundreds of people waiting for hours to receive free dental care. That experience inspired him to pursue dentistry as a way to give back to the community that shaped him.

Dr. Diep began his college journey at San Francisco State University, followed by a post-baccalaureate program at Cal State University-East Bay. He then earned his dental degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. To stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry, Dr. Diep is an active member of the California Dental Association.

In October 2021, Dr. Diep married his wife, and together they share their lives with two beloved dogs— a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix and a Chihuahua/Russell Terrier mix. In his free time, he enjoys watching cooking shows, following food-related content on social media, and exploring new restaurants. If he weren't a dentist, Dr. Diep believes he would have likely become a chef. He also enjoys working out, traveling, and keeping up with his favorite teams, the Raiders and Golden State Warriors.

Dr. Michael Melek is deeply committed to providing exceptional dental care to the Santa Cruz community, where he is honored to work alongside his family. Raised in Santa Cruz and a graduate of Harbor High School, Dr. Robinson went on to earn a B.S. in Biochemistry from UCLA and later received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Southern California (USC).

Since joining the Santa Cruz Dental Group, Dr. Robinson has built a reputation for offering comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. His services include preventive and restorative treatments, such as ceramic crowns, cosmetic whitening, veneers (including Lumineers), and Invisalign teeth straightening.

Dr. Loreto Sicam, Jr. completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of the East in the Philippines in 1985. Since opening his San Leandro practice in 1991, he has been dedicated to delivering top-notch dental care and helping the community maintain healthy smiles. With a reputation for his gentle approach and near-painless techniques, Dr. Sicam has steadily grown his practice, largely through patient referrals, providing care for entire families.

In addition to his work in general dentistry, Dr. Sicam has recently expanded his expertise to include dental implants, restorations, and the placement of both fixed and removable implant prosthodontics. Outside the office, he enjoys bowling, golfing, and watching films. He is also known for his love of jokes and enjoys sharing them with patients, while welcoming corny ones in return.

Dr. Allea Paras Torres graduated from the prestigious University of the Philippines, Manila, School of Dentistry, recognized as the top dental school in the Philippines. After completing her dental boards in the United States, she focused on expanding her expertise in cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Torres further honed her skills through continuing education at UCLA in cosmetic dentistry and by working with her mentor, Dr. Jimmy Ubank, in both UCLA and Plano, Texas. She has achieved Fellowship status in the International Dental Implant Association. Dr. Torres is known for her extensive dental knowledge and exceptional clinical skills, offering a wide range of procedures, from routine fillings to complex full-mouth reconstructions. Dr. Jesse Halbleib is a skilled and experienced dentist with over 25 years of practice, specializing in Dental Implants, Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, and Sleep Apnea Treatments. A native of Santa Clara, California, he graduated from Wilcox High School in 1978. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton in 1982 before going on to attend Emory Dental School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated in 1986. In 1994, Dr. Halbleib opened his dental practice in Watsonville, California, where he has been dedicated to serving the community ever since. He is committed to providing comprehensive dental care, constantly improving his expertise by attending ongoing seminars and courses. Dr. Halbleib uses the latest technology, including 3D Cone Beam Scans and CEREC Same Day Dentistry, to ensure high-quality results for his patients. She then pursued her passion for dentistry and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 2006 from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. Following her dental training, Dr. Tran began practicing in the Bay Area, where she enjoys working in all aspects of general dentistry, particularly restorative and cosmetic treatments. Dr. Eric Schmidt was raised in Boulder, Colorado, and earned both his BA and MA degrees in biology and psychology from the University of Colorado in 1988 and 1991, respectively. After relocating to San Francisco, he worked in biotech research for several years before pursuing a career in dentistry. Dr. Schmidt attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Schmidt has been a part of Alameda Family Dental Practice since 2004. He also served as the dental director at Sonrisas Community Clinic in Half Moon Bay, California, and taught at the University of the Pacific Dental School for several years. His areas of interest include research on jaw joint disorders and providing care for both children and adults who experience dental anxiety. Dr. Schmidt is also a certified Invisalign provider. In 2014, Dr. Schmidt was president of the Alameda County Dental Society and served as a delegate to the California Dental Association for three years. He also contributed to the peer review committee of the dental society. In recognition of his contributions to ethics, teaching, community service, and the dental profession, Dr. Schmidt was named a fellow of the American College of Dentists in 2016. Dr. Terlet is well-regarded within the dental community at the local, state, and national levels, maintaining active memberships in the California Dental Association, American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, NNOHA, and more. Dr. Terlet applies the same philosophy in her private practice, where she believes every patient deserves individualized care and personalized treatment plans. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Terlet has served as the Chief Dental Officer at La Clínica since 1989. In this role, she has played a key part in expanding dental services from one clinic to eleven locations across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties. As Chief Dental Officer, Dr. Terlet oversees the strategic direction and management of dental operations, ensuring alignment with La Clínica’s mission. She leads senior dental management in strategic growth, manages the office's budget and finances, and collaborates with other health agencies to advance the organization’s objectives. Dr. Terlet earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of California, Berkeley.
