Maryland holds the record for the oldest continuously published newspaper in the United States—the Maryland Gazette, which was founded in 1727. The Old Line State was also home to the first post office system in the country, the first hot air balloon ascension in the US, the first water company in the US, and even the first US school! Maryland has a long list of records, but not all those records are good. If you think about it, there’s one Marylander out there with the record for the longest time spent away from the dentist. Don’t be that person! Your oral health is essential for maintaining your beautiful smile, getting rid of those pesky (and painful) cavities, and even for improving your full-body health! When we first moved to Alexandria, VA, I was worried about finding a good dentist office near me. I’m happy to say we found a great one. My dental exam and first cleaning went well. When my teenage sons went in they too found the team to be very nice, gentle, and knowledgeable. Dr. Kwon answers any questions you may have and is very patient with all his patients. They send out text messages to remind you of your appointment, which I appreciate because of my busy schedule. You’ll never be in the waiting room for long, but it is a beautiful waiting room.

What is a dental crown?

g
gum-sealer-282

Dental crowns or caps restore the shape, size, and functionality of teeth after they have been damaged, and they offer protection from future damage. Dental crowns are a ideal options for restoring damaged teeth and are a standard of care offered at a restorative dentist. When a tooth is defective or damaged, we always hope that it can heal on its own. Unfortunately, teeth do not grow or heal or restore damaged enamel. However, your family dentist can restore a tooth with the help of a dental crown. Dental crowns are an aesthetic treatment which can protect a weak tooth from fracture or even infection, restore a damaged tooth structure, cover a dental implant, and stabilize a dental bridge in place, and they provide a natural appearance. Dental crown can recreate the shape and function of a tooth damaged by tooth decay or trauma. A dental crown is a full coverage cap that surrounds the tooth. A crown can also be used to improve the cosmetics of a smile. A crown can consist of different materials. All-metal, ceramic-on-metal, and all-ceramic are a few of these. The location of the crown in the teeth used to determine the best material to use. For example, front teeth needed to have an all-ceramic crown, if possible, since it looks the most natural. Patients may often had used ceramic-on-metal crowns since they appear natural but had the strength that only metal could provide., however, with the rise in popularity of very durable all ceramic crowns, there is little need for crowns that include metal in them. When getting a dental crown or a dental bridge installed, it is recommended that you work with a cosmetic dentist near you that has enough experience in cosmetic crowns.

It was so easy to find a doctor and make an appointment. I didn't have to take hours to call different offices and find out who takes my insurance and who doesn't.

I'm a freelancer, so I can't buy insurance easily, so I always ended up paying a lot for doctors' visits. I signed up for a Doctors Network dental plan, and my dental cleanings cost only $25 now. If you don't have dental insurance I highly recommend it.

I fell off my bike and chipped my front tooth. I was able to find and book an appointment online right away. Next time I need an appointment I'll try Doctors Network again.
