Dr. Michael Atencio knew that he wanted to become a dentist from a very young age. A terrible bike accident in the summer of 1974 left him with a bleeding lip, broken teeth, and lots of pain, and the only solution to his situation was a visit to the dentist's office. Although he was initially scared to go, he was happy he went. His dentist, Dr. Fred Coats, sewed up his lip, fixed his teeth, and relieved him of his pain. Before long, he had his smile back. Dr. Coats’ compassion and warmth towards him during his treatment inspired Michael and from that point on, there was only one thing he wanted to do with his life - become a dentist!

Dr. Atencio graduated in 1983 from Longmont High School and went straight into the Pre-Dental Program at Colorado State University. He then earned his DDS from the University of Nebraska Dental School in 1991. After graduation, Dr. Atencio and his wife made the move to Reno where they still live and work today. With his wife’s father, Dr. Gary Toogood, as his mentor, Dr. Atencio quickly learned all there is to know about treating patients and providing high-quality dentistry. He feels lucky every day to have the opportunity to help those in the wonderful community of Reno improve their oral health and gain confidence in their smiles.

Dr. Megan M. Cercek is always amazed at the positive impact dentistry can have on her patients’ lives. She feels honored each time she is given the opportunity to help someone improve their oral health and boost their confidence with a healthy new smile. Dr. Cercek attended the University of Arkansas and then earned her dental doctorate degree from the University of Louisville. Since her graduation in 2013, Dr. Cercek has been a practicing dentist in the Reno area and has been enjoying the work-life balance that dentistry allows her. To ensure that her patients receive the best care possible, Dr. Cercek stays up to date on dental techniques and technologies through her membership with numerous dental societies including the Nevada Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Northern Nevada Dental Society. Dr. David White takes high-quality dentistry just as seriously as he takes philanthropy. You can often find Dr. White combining the two by volunteering his time serving and educating his local community as an advisor for the University of Nevada Pre-Dental Society, a position he has held since 2004, or as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine and the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a member of the advisor committee for both universities as well. And, despite his already full schedule, Dr. White is also the current Government Affairs Vice Chair for the American Dental Association Council. Dr. White completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he was elected to the Associated Students of the University of Nevada because of his academic excellence. In 1999, he was awarded “Senior of the Year.” Dr. White earned his dentistry degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. His time in dental school imparted in him a philosophy of hard work and leadership that he continues to carry with him today. Throughout his professional career, Dr. White has regularly attended continuing education courses that keep him up to date on the latest dental techniques and technologies, and ensure that he provides his patients with optimal care.

After opening his practice in 2004, Dr. White has provided world-class cosmetic and family dentistry to countless happy patients. His success has been recognized by the “20 under 40” award which he won in 2008. He also won the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010. He was the winner of the American Dental Association’s Golden Apple Award for mentorship, leadership, and legislative achievement in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Dr. Andrew Robison devotes himself each day to providing the best dental care possible. He regularly attends continuing education courses that keep him up to date on the latest dental techniques and technologies. Dr. Robison earned his dental degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, then moved to Carson City in 1998 where he has been practicing dentistry ever since.
