Adults are not the only ones who benefit from routine dental treatment. Adolescents need routine preventive dentistry as well, and they need to be monitored by a dentist for signs of threats to their oral health. This could include dental malocclusion, or for teens, the eruption of the wisdom teeth. If you need to find a pediatric dentist in Ann Arbor, MI with experience treating smiles of all ages, then Doctors Network is able to help you.

Routine examinations should begin as early as age two, and continue every six months. These visits enable your Ann Arbor pediatric dentist to monitor smiles as they grow, and if areas of concern develop, such as toothaches, or gingivitis, then intervention might be needed. In addition, kids can often receive fluoride treatments to strengthen the outer enamel of their dentition and prevent tooth cavities. Dental sealants, which coat the occlusal surfaces of the posterior teeth, can strengthen vulnerable adult teeth. In fact, this layer of acrylic can provide protection against tooth cavities for as long as a decade in some cases.

If you are searching for family dentists in Ann Arbor who can offer care for kids, contact us. We want to help you find the right dental care provider. With routine care kids not only can enjoy strong and healthy smiles, but they also understand the value of regular care. Checkups and cleanings can start them on the path to a lifetime of healthy gums and teeth. All of it starts with that initial dental exam. So, use our search tool to find the best dentist for you and your family!

If you have a toothache, or a tooth that is chipped, you need treatment. Otherwise, the tooth could develop cavities and infections. Soon, there is a risk of not only tooth loss, but a spread of infection to other areas of the jaw. But sometimes, the damage or cavity is beyond the stage to be treated with a tooth filling or a root canal. Instead, the tooth could require immediate removal. At Doctors Network, our team can help you book a visit with a private dentist in Ann Arbor, MI who can provide a safe tooth removal as needed.

As we discussed earlier, advanced decay or injury could be why a tooth needs extraction. But a dentist could also remove one that is loosened by gum disease. Removing a tooth could return balance and chewing function. Extraction could also provide room for correcting misalignment! In many cases, this could prevent wisdom tooth impaction. Removing wisdom teeth prior to eruption helps preserve the balance and appearance of your smile. For people with advanced tooth loss, removing the last few teeth essentially paves the way for dentures. Your Ann Arbor general dentist could use the procedure to improve the function and health of your smile.

Now that you understand why and when a tooth may need to be taken out, how do you seek care for one? Well, as mentioned above Doctors Network can connect you with a dentist in the Ann Arbor, MI area. But if you don’t have a dental plan, you may worry about the cost. Fortunately, we have a direct payment plan! Our dental membership plan is opened with an initial fee and maintained with a small fee each month. For some, this could discount care by up to 90 percent!

You probably know a lot of people who have had their wisdom tooth pulled and are eager to tell their experience to you. While this can be helpful, it is still crucial to consult with a oral surgeon. If you need your wisdom teeth extracted, it is best to have a plethora of information at your disposal. This will help you understand what to expect from wisdom teeth extraction and what you should expect from the dentist. Luckily, Doctors Network can help you connect with a great oral surgeon near you in Ann Arbor, MI that accepts new patients.

The third molars or wisdom teeth are in the back of the mouth, and there is one on each quadrant. They most commonly appear between the ages of seventeen and twenty-five. Because they come in later than the rest of your teeth, their arrival can cause issues with your existing ones. They can erupt at unusual directions, only partially erupt, or overcrowd your already-established teeth. When this occurs, they are likely to succumb to bacteria and infections. If any of these conditions take place, it can be very uncomfortable and can harm your teeth. If you think you might have issues with wisdom teeth coming in, it is important to see a Ann Arbor dentist hastily.

If you do need wisdom tooth extraction, your oral healthcare professional will determine how they will go about the removal to make certain everything goes without complications. They will determine which of your wisdom teeth need to be removed and how complex it will be. They will also assess the appropriate type of sedation and the position of your existing teeth. Once they ascertain this information, they can plan your treatment more easily. When you come in for the procedure, you will receive the appropriate anesthesia, so you will not experience discomfort. Your dentist will extract your teeth and look after you the entire time to make sure you are doing well. Once your wisdom teeth are extracted, you will receive post-surgery care instructions. Fortunately, there are many Ann Arbor dentists that accept new patients and can adeptly remove your wisdom teeth.

It is paramount for your little ones to visit a pediatric dentist every six months for checkups and cleanings. By teaching your kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the skills to have healthy smiles for life. If you are looking for a pediatric dental professional in Ann Arbor who accepts patients with no dental insurance, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your kid with sealants. These are small pieces of BPA-free acrylic that dentists paint onto their molars. They work as a protective film that forms a barrier between their molars and harmful bacteria. This ultimately prevents the risk of infection by up to 80%. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing the need for fillings in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another effective tool that your kids’ dentists provide. Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps bolster your child’s teeth. While enamel is one of the most protective substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your child’s teeth become more susceptible to dental caries. This procedure helps mitigate this damage. Using fluoride toothpaste can also help. To learn more, we invite you to schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Ann Arbor.

Many folks would be ecstatic to have a whiter smile. When you venture down the aisles of any pharmacy, you see numerous products that advertise their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide unsatisfying results. However, professional tooth whitening can actually produce a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Ann Arbor, MI that accepts self-pay patients, we can help you find one that offers professional teeth whitening.

When you visit your Ann Arbor dentist, they can provide you with either an at-home or in-office option. With the in-office option, you will typically be out within about an hour, and you will have noticeably whiter teeth. For this option, your dentist will apply a gel solution to your teeth that they will then activate with a special light, to remove stains.

If you would prefer to choose whitening from the comfort of your home, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can use along with a safe whitening solution. You will put these on for a couple of hours each day for roughly two weeks. Once this treatment is done, you will have a whiter smile. If you would like to request a visit with a Ann Arbor dentist that takes self-pay patients, we can help you find a fantastic one.

Michigan may be best known as home to Motor City—the common nickname for Detroit, which was the center of America’s automotive boom. However, it is also known for being the only state to touch all four of the Great Lakes, giving the state 3,100 miles of freshwater coastline—more than any other state or province in the world. Michigan is home to over 9.9 million people, and helping them all maintain a healthy quality of life has always been a priority for dental health experts who call the state home. With Doctors Network, dentists can now offer patients the high-quality professional dental care they deserve at drastically reduced prices, making it easier for families in Michigan to take good care of their smiles.

Staying ahead of the curve has always been Michigan’s thing. In today’s world of rising dental health care costs, that means finding ways to keep the quality of care high while minimizing costs for average families. Doctors Network helps local dentists solve that problem by offering direct dental plans to all of their patients. Unlike dental insurance, a direct dental plan gives you access to substantial discounts on every treatment that your dentist offers. This includes everything from preventive checkups and cleanings that only cost $25 per visit to more involved cosmetic, restorative, and prosthetic procedures that are discounted by up to 90%. For the seven percent of patients in Michigan who do not have insurance, a direct dental plan can be the best way to make dental care more affordable for the whole family. For patients who already have insurance, the plan can help ensure that they are not left with exorbitant out-of-pocket expenses, even for elective procedures like porcelain veneers, Invisalign® clear aligners, dental implants, and more.
