We specialize in producing high quality dentures in one day and gentle – touch dental care in a relaxing environment…always. Our in house lab is equipped and able to produce complete sets of dentures or acrylic partial dentures. Dr Andrea Barrett your Somerset NJ Dentist was born and raised in the island of Jamaica and migrated to the United State in 1975. She attended Rutgers University in New Jersey where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 1980. In 1985 she graduated from Howard University School of Dentistry, with her Doctor of Dental Science. After working at various offices Dr. Barrett along with her husband Dr. Belgrave (Jerry) open the Somerset office in 1986, which they bought from a retiring dentist. An active member of both the American Dental Association (ADA) and the National Dental Association (NDA), Dr. Barrett continues to stay current in techniques and procedures through continuing education courses. Dr. Barrett a strong advocate of giving back to the community is also an active member in the Organization of International Development (OID) which is a volunteer group that provides free medical and dental services to the underserved in rural areas of Jamaica, Ghana, India, Haiti and other Caribbean countries.

Dr. Barrett is a wonderful dentist. I have a giant fear of the dentist and even though I have had delta dental and this dental plan for a while I avoided going. But Dr. Barrett and her staff were understanding and made me feel relaxed. They have the latest technology in dentistry. The hygienists are understanding and professional when they do your cleanings. The office staff is helpful and knowledgeable, and Dr. Barrett is easy to talk to. I’ve had a root canal, 2 crown replacements, and an infection in my gum line which Dr. Barrett and her staff fixed it. I can’t believe my former dentist missed all that. And I had zero pain during all of this. I live almost an hour away from New Jersey, but I don’t mind the long drive because this place is awesome. I have found my good dentist in Somerset, NJ.
This dentist office near me has the best dental team. The office is beautiful, it has a view, which helps make me feel relaxed during my time in the chair. I was in a lot of pain and was in need of a crown the other month. I called in and they were able to see me that day. I’ve never had a painful injection there. They did the crown for me and then called me later that day to make sure I wasn’t in any pain. This place is truly the best.
When my 8 year old fell out of his bed and cracked a front tooth we called Dr. Barrett. We recently moved to Somerset and hadn’t even started looking for a dentist in Somerset NJ. We called in on New Year’s Day and I’m so glad her personal phone is available in case of emergencies. She returned my phone call immediately after I had left a voicemail. She knew our situation was a dental emergency and met us in the office 15 minutes later, which I couldn’t believe. Truly incredible. She was nice, friendly and helped my son and I feel comfortable. She went through the process with her thoroughly in order to make him feel comfortable. She gave us options on what could be done and told us the future steps that would need to be taken. My son’s smile looks great again thanks to Dr. Barrett. She gave my son a bonded tooth and he left with a big smile on his face. Dr. Barrett was nice, caring, quick, and knowledgeable and gave us the highest quality service. I still can’t believe she met with us on a holiday. She told us she would gladly be our permanent dentist, and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.
