Lisa C.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Schambeau at Schambeau Dental Care for a while now. They have a fully staffed, very professional office. The hygienists and doctors are all highly skilled. In my opinion, they’re the best dental practice in Bessemer, AL! I’m 58 years old and have lived in a lot of places, which means I’ve had a lot of dentists. Schambeau Dental Care cured my gum disease, fixed all my teeth, and replaced the mercury fillings that a previous dentist had done. Since seeing Dr. Schambeau nine years ago, I’ve received so many compliments on my smile. Everyone at the office is always positive and empathetic, and they truly care about you. Sometimes, I even ask for more mouthwash, hoping that whatever they drink to make them like this rubs off on me. Seriously, though, this is the best dental practice around. If you go anywhere else, take comfort in knowing that it might be the second best dental office, but why risk it?

sleep-apnea-treatment

When you experience a poor sleeping pattern, you may not think a dentist near you could help. But in fact, dentists can provide a non-invasive option to help you breathe without interruption. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition in which when you sleep, the soft palate and the tissues around the throat collapse and cause you to stop breathing. People actually stop breathing for a few seconds until the brain notices a drop in oxygen. Even as you think you slept well, you could feel tired! But when is it time to talk to Doctors Network and find Bessemer, AL dentists who provide treatment options?

Symptoms of sleep apnea could include loud and frequent snoring. Daytime drowsiness, headaches, and trouble with interpersonal relationships could be factors too. With no treatment, the condition could even strain your immune system and heart health. When you suffer similar signs and symptoms, consider seeing a dental professional. Often, oral appliance therapy can be helpful to keep airways open, so you can finally sleep well.

This week we are honoring our dental care providers near NYC.

When we are kids, many of us clench our teeth for short periods of time. The issue tends to last only a few months. Did you ever notice popping or crackling sound in the jaw? Do you have persistent migraines? If so, this could be related to widespread jaw joint disorders. Around 25 million people in the United States suffer from TMJ disorder or bruxism. Without treatment, these could not only cause pain, but actually crack or chip a tooth! Fortunately, your friends at Doctors Network can find the right dental office in Bessemer, AL who accepts self-pay patients.

While very different from one another, these two disorders are often related. TMJ disorder develops when the joints connecting the jaw and skull are stressed. This could cause problems with jaw function. Common symptoms include pain in the jaw, head, and neck. Bruxism means you grind or clench your teeth nightly. The stress caused by grinding could cause jaw pain and headaches. Teeth grinding could also damage teeth. This damage could lead to decayed teeth, infection, and more. Both disorders could be caused by issues that strain the jaw joints, and untreated TMJ disorder could mean eventual teeth grinding, and vice-versa. When you have frequent discomfort in your head and neck, you should find help. We can even connect you with a dental professional in Bessemer who accepts self-pay patients.

Treatment options often vary; for some, relief is possible following crown placement, which improves bite balance. For others, treating misalignment with aligners or braces could ease strain and stop symptoms. The most common option offered by most dental professionals is a custom splint, which fits like a nightguard. If you need to find treatment from a Bessemer dentist. then contact our team!

It is crucial for kids to visit a dental professional bi-yearly for dental visits and cleanings. By teaching your kids great oral health habits, you are ensuring that they have the knowledge to have healthy smiles for ever. If you are looking for a pediatric dental professional in Bessemer who takes uninsured patients, you are on the right website.

In addition to offering biannual dental checkups and cleanings, pediatric dentists on Doctors Network also provide your child with dental sealants. Sealants are thin layers of film that go on top of their back teeth. They work as a protective film that forms a protective layer between their molars and germs. This ultimately prevents the risk of tooth decay by up to 80 percent. It is a simple treatment that is very effective at preventing the need for fillings in the future.

Fluoride treatments are another great tool that your dentists provide. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that helps strengthen your children’s teeth. While enamel is one of the most durable substances our bodies produce, it can still weaken over time. When this occurs, your little one’s teeth become more susceptible to cavities. Fluoride treatment helps stop decay from occurring. Using fluoride toothpaste can also help. For more information, please schedule an appointment with one of our dental practices in Bessemer.

Many people would be elated to have a whiter smile. When you stroll down the aisles of any pharmacy, you see myriad products that promote their teeth whitening abilities. If you have tried any of these, you know that they almost always provide lackluster results. However, professional tooth bleaching can actually produce a brighter smile. If you are looking for a dentist in Bessemer, AL that accepts parivate patients, we can help you find one that offers professional tooth whitening.

When you visit your Bessemer dental practice, they can provide you with either an at-home or in-office treatment. If you choose the in-office treatment, you will have brighter teeth within about an hour. When you visit the office for whitening, your dentist will apply a special bleaching gel that, when activated by a special light, will get rid of stains.

If you would prefer to choose whitening from the comfort of your home, your dentist will give you a set of custom trays that you can fill up with a safe bleaching or peroxide solution. You will put these on for a couple of hours each day for about two weeks. Once this treatment is done, you will have a more radiant smile. If you would like to request a visit with a Bessemer dentist that takes parivate patients, we can help you find the best ones.

If it has been at least half a year since you last visited a dentist, you should schedule a consultation as soon as possible. When you go in for bi-annual visits, your dentist can closely examine your smile to make sure nothing is wrong. This helps prevent tooth decays from occurring, minimizing the chance of needing more invasive procedures down the road. If you are looking for a dentist in Bessemer, AL that takes individuals without dental insurance we can help you find a great practice.

To begin your visit, a hygienist will clean your teeth thoroughly. This will remove plaque and tartar that is tough to remove at home — even with fantastic brushing and flossing habits. The dental prophylaxis will leave your smile feeling rejuvenated.

Once your cleaning is completed, your Bessemer dentist will begin his or her examination. During this portion of your appointment, the dentist will thoroughly look at your dentition to identify any potential complications. Should they notice something awry, they will explain your treatment options. The Bessemer dental office we set you up with will offer a myriad of services to address a variety of dental complications. If you visit the dentist regularly they can monitor the health of your mouth. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment online with a dentist that works with individuals without dental insurance, we can help you find a great one.

Over 16% of Alabama residents are over the age of 65, while almost 23% are under the age of 18. For both age groups, personalized dental care is especially important. Older patients often require restoration or prosthodontic care to replace lost teeth; younger patients may need additional ongoing preventive measures, such as orthodontics, to avoid more serious issues later in life. On top of routine general dental care, treatment for seniors and children can cause the costs of your family’s dental care to skyrocket. Fortunately, Doctors Network offers families throughout Alabama a highly affordable alternative to managing dental care costs with a direct dental plan.
